Police State USSA: Ferguson, MO - No Fly Zone, Media Lock Out, Snipers - "Total  Pandemonium," And "License To Kill"

The situation in Ferguson, MO. is totally out of control after an unnamed police officer shot and killed an 18 year old African American by the name of Michael Brown. An eyewitnesses recounted what had happened, claiming Brown "was walking in the street when the officer ordered him to the sidewalk. When Brown did not immediately comply, the officer put him in a chokehold. The young man struggled to free himself, and the officer pulled his gun and fired. "

Via CNN, "Wounded, Brown tried to flee but was shot a second time in the back. That’s when he turned with his hands raised, Johnson said. “I don’t have a gun. Stop shooting!” he said, but additional shots were fired.

Riots, vandalism and protests immediately started and videos and photos have been hitting the Internet on a consistent basis for the last three days, with concerning news that authorities have issued a "no-fly zone" over Ferguson and reports that media is being turned away as the police presence intensifies, but in a manner that has civil libertarians concerned and disturbed.






Looks more like military than police, which is what has people talking about how this whole situation has turned into "total pandemonium," providing a clear example of why there has been so much focus on the militarization of local and state police departments. No one is excusing vandalism and rioting, but many of the protestors are unarmed and peacefully protesting, yet being treated as if they also are committing a crime simply by protesting, and the lockdown on the city, hiding what is happening from being reported, is yet another example of the USA becoming Police State USSA, where actions taken by police is being hidden from the public eye.

Covering the aftermath of the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Missouri: St. Louis Alderman Antonio French provided coverage of protests in the St. Louis suburb last night: “A line of police cars with high beams on greets anyone trying to enter #Ferguson. It’s shut down. No media allowed.”

There are reports of police snipers pointing laser scopes at unarmed protestors with photos and videos backing them up, as well as eyewitness accounts saying the police now have a "license to kill."


The Blaze has an excellent piece out, covering the "Little Covered Aspect Of The Unrest In Ferguson: The Alarming Militarization of Local Police ," and the pictures give a clear view of what many have warned about over the years, where the local police forces have become what appears to be paramilitary units who treat their citizens as enemy combatants rather than being there to "protect and serve."

Some of the photos coming out of Ferguson more closely resemble a war zone than a suburban community in Missouri.

Officers — some riding in military vehicles — responded to the unrest wearing full-camo riot gear, combat boots and armed with “short-barreled 5.56-mm rifles based on the military M4 carbine, with scopes that can accurately hit a target out to 500 meters,” according to Business Insider’s Paul Szoldra.
