Section 1 - Policy - The Domestic Policy Council completed the months-long review of the Smithsonian Institution as ordered by EO 14253 Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History (discussed in my July 6, 2026 ANP Article) that showed leadership at the Smithsonian did not present American history as a shared national inheritance to be taught and celebrated. Instead, leadership at the Smithsonian chose to advance ideas of social justice and the radical transformation of our society. The Trump Administration will take all available steps to fix the issues shown in the Report restoring the original purpose of the Smithsonian Institution which is to present America's history with honesty.
Section 2 - Restoring Trust in the Smithsonian Institution - directs the Secretary of the Interior, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, the Administrator of General Services, and the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy to restore the Smithsonian Institution original purpose of presenting America's history with honesty in a non-partisan manner.
Section 3 - Warning Visitors About the Ideological Capture at the National Museum of American History - requires signage along walkways and sidewalks used by those accessing the Smithsonian Institution notifying them of the Report findings and directing visitors to areas where they can find accurate historical information. In addition, exhibits and signage will be installed to appropriately honor the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence (who have been discussed in my ANP Articles, the index is found in my September 17, 2025 ANP Article).
The accompanying Fact Sheet President Donald J Trump Restores Trust in the Smithsonian Institution explains that the goal is to restore trust in the Smithsonian Institution by utilizing all available authorities to encourage it to correct the issues found in the Report. Temporary signage near the Museum, informing visitors of the findings of the Report and directing visitors to accurate information regarding America’s history will be installed and temporary exhibits or signage that corrects inaccurate information presented in the National Museum of American History to ensure America’s Founders are honored during its 250th year. Through this EO, President Trump is saving America's TRUE story from corrosive ideology continuing the celebration of our unique United States of America heritage.
On July 27, 2026, the White House published the release Made in Michigan Again: President Trump’s Trade Agenda Is Supercharging American Auto Manufacturing showcasing how President Trump's America First policies have ignited an automotive renaissance in Michigan. The release highlights investments by General Motors ($6B), Ford Motor Company ($3B), and Stellantis ($388M) as well as announcing that Detroit Diesel is recalling workers previously laid off and adding a 3rd shift to their production lines. The release reports:
The release states that this automotive renaissance is part of a broader boom for manufacturers in Michigan which includes investments in energy, aerospace, and technology within the state.

The Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine website highlights the story of Stanley Rother's life and religious mission and seeks to have him canonized. The website Focus explains the 5-step process that the Catholic Church uses to canonize someone into sainthood.
Step 1 - the person dies and their local bishop gathers evidence of their faith (including diaries or other written works of the person) and submits this to the Vatican's Congregation for the Causes of Saints.
Step 2 - the Congregation either accepts or rejects the application. If they accept, the person is given the title Servant of God.
Step 3 - after investigation, if the Congregation approves the person, they are given the title Venerable.
Step 4 - the person is credited with a miracle (usually an instantaneous, permanent, and complete healing that is not explained by science) which independent doctors must verify as unexplainable by science. Then theologians approve and forward the approval to the Pope. At this point, the person is given the title Blessed (aka the person is beautified by the pope).
Step 5 - a second miracle is credited to the person which is investigated in the same manner as the first miracle. Once verified, the person is declared to be a Saint.
The path for Father Rother to become a saint in the Catholic Church has followed these steps:
On July 28, 1981, Father Rother was murdered in Guatemala where he had been a missionary priest since 1968.
On September 3, 2007, the Diocese of Sololá-Chimaltenango transferred the cause to the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City.
From October 5, 2007 to July 20, 2010, the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City conducted an investigation.
On November 25, 2009, Rother received the title Servant of God (step 2)
On June 23, 2015, theologians unanimously approve Father Rother's cause followed by the cardinal and bishops on October 18, 2016. I could not find the miracle used to approve the beatification.
On December 1, 2016, Pope Francis recognized Father Rother as a Martyr for the Faith.
On September 23, 2017, Father Rother was beatified in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (step 4).

Today, we are reminded that Father Rother’s life and martyrdom are the fruits of America’s rich tradition of religious liberty. In his honor, we recommit to remaining vigilant so that our birthright of freedom endures in the face of every trial. We acknowledge with deep pride that America’s missionary zeal and generous spirit were, are, and will continue to be among the greatest forces of peace, justice, and flourishing in human history. Above all, we pray that every soul of faith, every lover of freedom, and every seeker of truth will forever remember the name and treasure the story of Father Stanley Rother.
For those interested in volunteering to decorate the White House (application available online here), decorating will be done from November 23, 2026 through November 29, 2026. You have the option of working shift 1 (Nov 23-25), shift 2 (Nov 26-29), or the full week (Nov 23-29). Shift 1 will be done at a different location. Shift 2 will be at the White House. Hours are 6am to 5pm daily. You must commit to the days/times posted. There will be no decorating on Thanksgiving day. You will be expected to do heavy lifting, standing for long periods of time, and working on ladders.
