OBBB Moves Into Congressional Reconciliation Process Before Final Full-Congress Vote, Recent Nominations Sent To Senate, And Visit To Alligator Alcatraz In Florida

By S.E. Gunn, PhD -All News Pipeline

On July 1, 2025, the White House issued three articles about the OBBB. The first,No Tax on Social Security is a Reality in the One Big Beautiful Billclaims 88% of seniors who receive SSI will pay no tax on the SSI benefits up from 64% under current rules. The "true" changes to SSI will have to be included in the next omnibus budget bill.

The second,Senate Democrats Just Voted Against Lower Taxes, Higher Pay, National Security, and Moreis not a surprise to anyone who has been following what the Democrats have been doing since President Trump was re-elected. The OBBB passed the Senate because VP Vance had to cast the tie-breaking vote. Three GOP Senators voted WITH the Democrats, meaning they voted against lower taxes, bigger paychecks, strong border security, protecting Medicaid from illegal aliens, modernizing air traffic control, revolutionizing the nation's defense system (most notably the Golden Dome), protecting American Family Farmers, unleashes American Energy dominance, and reverses the spending the Autopen Administration instituted including the climate hoax green scams.

The third,WHAT THEY ARE SAYING: Senate Approves Landmark One Big Beautiful Billtouts the approval of various businesses for the passing of the bill. Everything from the airlines approving the upgrade to the air traffic control system, organizations lauding school choice, prevention of tax increases on businesses, approval of capital investment in manufacturing and the steel industry, approval of unleashing America's energy, support of agriculture and farm economies, protections for the trucking industry, protections for future generations, and a feeling that the OBBB provides 'certainty for the near future.'

Now we watch as the Senate & House combine their two versions of the bill in the reconciliation and then the whole of Congress needs to vote on it. So, there are still more fun and games to be had in this process.

Finally, on July 1, 2025, President Trump visited the new Florida Illegal Alien Detention Center, aka "Alligator Alcatraz," which will be ready to hold illegal alien detainees as soon as President Trump departs from the facility. The facility took only 8 days to build and is more than equivalent to the "migrant housing" New York City built a couple years ago. Although there were protesters lined up along the roadway NONE of them attempted to block the roadway. I wonder if it has anything to do with Governor DeSantis' approval of vehicles not being required to stop for crowds (aka, run them over if they try to stop your vehicle so you won't get beat up by them). President Trump notes that Alabama and Louisiana are also creating illegal alien detention centers as well. After the tour, President Trump stopped for a short press conference. He was asked if he was happy with the alligators because at one point he suggested crocodiles in the Rio Grande River to stop illegal aliens. He laughed and said he was joking about the crocs.
