The White House has published 4 new articles in the last 2 days:
1. On July 14, 2025, they publishedPresident Trump Delivers on MAHA Pushwhere they state that President Trump is removing "harmful chemicals" from our food supply. They list a variety of companies that are removing more than food coloring: Steak & Shake is now using 100% all-natural beef tallow and replaced "buttery blend" with 100% Grade A Wisconsin Butter; Mars removed titanium dioxide from Skittles; Sam's Club says they will remove not only artificial colors, additives, and dyes but also high-fructose corn syrup from its private label products; while Nestle says it will remove "petroleum-based" food dyes. In addition, McCormick, PepsiCo, In-N-Out, Tyson Foods, Kraft-Heinz, General Mills, Conagra Foods, JM Smucker, Hershey, and Consumer Brands have all agreed to remove some artificial colors in some of their products.
Bottom line: READ THE LABEL except now you also have to go to their website to get more information on the ingredients as the government is allowing them to use websites to provide "more info" instead of requiring the information on the label of the product. I don't buy the products that do this. If they don't actually put it on the label, I automatically think they're hiding the 'bad stuff' they're putting into the product.
2. On July 15, 2025, they publishedInflation Remains Right on Target Under President Trumptells us the Consumer Price Index June data shows the annualized rate of inflation is below the year-earlier pace; Core inflation beat expectations for another month at just 2.1% (last seen in the first Trump Administration); Wage growth remains strong with real wages up 1.3% over last year for production and non-supervisory workers; and prices continue to fall for new/used vehicles, airfares, shelter, gas, fuel oil, energy commodities, hotels, public transportation, and fresh vegetables are all down compared to last year.
For me, my electric went down (but we haven't seen the bills yet for our 2 hottest months July & August, yet), gas went down, water went up, trash, went up, sewer went up, and cable stayed the same when compared to the same time period last year.
Does this mean they will remove woke and DEI from their corporate policies now that he is seeing economic results from the Trump Administration's policies? If not, he's just giving lip service to bring back customers who boycotted him over his woke & DEI policies.
4. On July 15, 2025, they publishedPresident Trump Solidifies U.S. Position as Leader in AIduring the Pennsylvania Energy & Innovation Summit. The summit touted Google's $25,000,000,000 investment in data centers and infrastructure; Blackstone's $25,000,000,000 investment in data centers and natural gas plants; and CoreWeave's $6,000,000,000 investment in data center expansion.
It's all built around AI and AI is all about gathering data on We The People. I am NOT a fan of these actions because there is way too much leeway for abuse. On the other hand, if we don't start it and put the "found out the hard way" safeguards in place to protect the data of We The People, it is likely another country will develop these abilities without safeguards.

On July 14, 2024, SCOTUS issued a 6:3 ruling on the Application for Stay in the case of McMahon v. New York District Court for the District of Massachusetts case # 1:25-cv-10601, SCOTUS docket 24A1203. This ruling means the US can continue to return educational functions to the states, eliminate DOE positions, and disband the DOE entirely. Justice Sotomayer (joined by Justice Kagan and Justice Jackson) wrote the dissenting opinion.
In the case ofPerdomo, et al. v. Noemdocket #2504312 Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, an appeal was filed. Perdomo claims immigration agents unfairly use race, ethnicity, the lack of English speaking skills, presence at 'a particular location or type of work' to stop individuals to question them about their immigration status. The Trump Administration maintains they use "reasonable suspicion". Tom Homan says enforcement officers go through 4th Amendment training every 6 months. He also states that "reasonable suspicion" is a combination of factors only some of which are included in what the suit claims is discriminatory.
In the caseCASA, Inc. v. Noemabout discontinuation of TPS for Afghanistan and Cameroon, there were two actions. First as docket # 8:25-cv-01484 in District Court, D. Maryland where the summary judgement denial was appealed; followed by docket # 25-1792 in the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit where the administration actions were stayed. The lawsuit claims the Trump Administration did not follow proper procedures in cancelling TPS. If you go to the Court Listener page detailing the steps taken for this lawsuit, you will see many actions on this case along with a variety of documents that were files (some available as PDF, others you must pay to obtain. I found it interesting that the original attorney filed motions to quit representing these clients AFTER DHS submitted it's June 25, 2025 document (with 12 attachments).
Now back to "What's actually in the OBBB" series! Today we continue with Title VII - Finance, Chapter 2 - Delivering on Presidential Priorities to Provide New Middle-Class Tax Relief, Section 70204 Trump Accounts and Contribution Pilot Program. Section 70204Trump Accounts and Contribution Pilot Program is an entirely new program in the tax code which will be known as Section 530A - Part IX - Trump Accounts. Since this is a new piece of legislation, there may be changes made prior to your filing tax returns for the year in which this goes into effect. I am not going to be copying the actual code here, I will give you "my" interpretation of what "I" think it says, which could be incorrect. Again, I caution, if you believe you qualify under this section, please consult a tax professional.
A Trump account IS an IRA that does NOT qualify as a Roth IRA and is created for individuals who have not reached the age of 18 before the end of the calendar year. This IRA must be funded by a qualified rollover contribution. It must be designated as a "Trump Account" IRA. While contributions can be made to a Trump Account, no withdrawals are allowed until the account beneficiary reaches the age of 18 anytime during that current tax year.
ANY CHILD who has NOT turned 18 before the close of the tax year and for whom a SSN (within the meaning of section 24(h)(7)) has been issued is eligible to be the account beneficiary of a Trump Account (provided they meet the 'born after December 31, 2024' date). So your 17 year old child can have a Trump Account for the current tax year but not next year when they turn 18.
A Trump Account IRA can be a mutual fund or exchange traded fund that tracks the returns of a qualified index, does not use leverage, whose annual fees and expenses do not exceed more than 0.1% of the balance of the investment, and whatever other criteria designated by the Secretary. A qualified index is Standard & Poor's 500 stock market index or any other index which is comprised of equity investments in primarily US companies and for which regulated futures contracts are traded on a qualified board or exchange. It shall NOT include any industry or sector-specific index but may include an index based on market capitalization.
No deductions are allowed from a Trump Account until the account beneficiary reaches the age of 18. Contributions made before the account beneficiary reaches the age of 18 shall not exceed $5,000 per calendar year. After 2027, the maximum of $5,000 shall be recalculated based on cost of living adjustments. Rounding for this amount will be to the next LOWEST $100.
If the account beneficiary dies before the first day of the tax year of their 18th birthday, the account ceases to be a Trump Account. Please consult with your tax professional about what happens when the beneficiary dies.
There is an entire section on "Qualified Rollover Contribution" that, if your child qualifies for a Trump Account, I recommend you consult with your tax professional concerning this section.
Employers can made contributions to Trump Accounts on behalf of their employees. The amount excluded may not exceed $2,500 (out of the $5,000 maximum yearly contribution). Subject to cost of living adjustments after 2027. It is a separate written plan on the part of the employer (which means it is not lumped in with other IRA contributions for the parent).
Recognize this is a PILOT PROGRAM. As such, if you open one or more for your child(ren), you will want to keep up with whatever modifications are made to the program.
Section 6434 is where it states that the child MUST be a US Citizen, born after December 31, 2024 and before January 1, 2029, and have a valid SSN. An amount of $1,000 shall be treated as "making a payment against the tax imposed by subtitle A) paid for by the US Treasury to the Trump Account for the child.
There are penalties for negligent claims or fraudulent claims that in addition to already existing rules, penalties as low as $500 or as much as $1,000 can be assessed per claim.
An amount of $410,000,000 from the general Treasury shall be appropriated to carry out this section. The funds remain available until September 30, 2034. Hmmm, in the video clip below, President Trump states taxpayers will NOT be funding this project. However, funding from the general Treasury is being set aside. Will these funds be replaced with funds generated through tariffs?
These accounts are just ONE of the reasons why it is so important that the question of "birth right" citizenship MUST be addressed by SCOTUS (which we are told will happen in October 2025).
Today's Patriot isCharles Carroll who was born September 19, 1737 in Annapolis, Maryland. He was an only child. His parents were not married at the time (they finally married in 1757). Charles went to school at the Jesuit preparatory school called Bohemia Manner in Cecil County, Maryland. He was sent to France in 1748 at age 11 to continue his schooling. He attended College of St. Omer in Northern France moving to Lycee Louis-le-Grand in Paris. He graduated in 1755 but continued his studies in law in London. He returned to Annapolis in 1765 at age 28.
Charles married Mary Darnall on June 5, 1768 and they had 7 children of which 3 survived to adulthood. His descendants continue to own Doughoregan Manor in Howard County, Maryland.
Upon Charles' return to Annapolis, his father granted him Carrollton Manor and Charles took the title Charles Carroll of Carrollton as a way to identify himself from all the other Charles Carrolls in the area.
Because he was Catholic, he was barred from entering politics, practicing law, and voting by Maryland Statute established the Act to Prevent Growth of Popery passed September 30, 1704. Even though he was banned from politics, he agreed with the push for independence, so he began writing under the pseudonym "First Citizen" in the Maryland Gazette. As we see occurring in current times, he was eventually doxed. Thing is, instead of making Charles back down, the doxing simply added to his notoriety. Indeed, the doxing may have been one of the reasons Charles was elected to the Committee of Correspondence in Maryland in 1774. He became a member of Annapolis' first Committee of Safety in 1775. In 1776, Congress sent him, with 3 other men: Benjamin Franklin, Samuel Chase, and Charles' cousin John Carroll, on a mission to Canada to seek assistance from French Canadians for the upcoming war. Charles was elected as Maryland representative of the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. He served until 1778. While he was too late to vote for the Declaration, he was present to sign it August 2, 1776. Being the richest man in America in 1776, he gave much financial support to the war (which may have been another reason he was chosen to represent Maryland to the Continental Congress).
After the war, he returned to Maryland and served in the Maryland Senate from 1781 to 1779. After which he was elected to the US Senate resigning on November 30, 1792.
Charles died November 14, 1832, at age 95, in Baltimore, Maryland. He is known as the oldest-lived Founding Father, outliving 4 of the first 5 US Presidents. He was buried on his property in Doughoregan Manor, Ellicott City, Maryland.
Many counties are named in his honor in Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, Ohio, and Virginia. Two Parishes are named after him in Louisiana. There are also cities and town in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Iowa, Maryland, Missouri, New Hampshire, and New York named after him. There are two neighborhoods named for him in Brooklyn, New York and Tampa, Florida. In 1903, Maryland added a bronze statue of Charles to the US Capitol's National Statuary Hall Collection. Finally, the WWII Liberty Ship SS Charles Carroll was named for him.
